How to stream GTA6 from your PS5 to Twitch
The complete no-capture-card path: link Twitch once, then go live from the Create button in under a minute. Set this up now, not on launch night.
Your PS5 already contains everything you need to stream GTA6. No capture card, no PC, no OBS. The whole setup is one account link and two button presses — but do the account link this week, because launch night is the worst possible time to discover a linking error.
One-time setup: link Twitch
- On your PS5, go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Link with Other Services.
- Select Twitch and follow the on-screen flow — you'll either scan a QR code with your phone or enter a code at twitch.tv/activate.
- Sign in to the Twitch account you actually stream on. Done. You never have to touch this again.
If you don't have a Twitch account yet, make it on your phone or computer first, pick your streamer name carefully (it's your URL), and turn on two-factor authentication — Twitch requires 2FA before you can stream from some devices, and it protects the account your audience lives on.
Going live
- Launch the game, then press the Create button (the small button left of the touchpad).
- Choose Broadcast, then Twitch.
- Write your stream title, pick your options, and hit Go Live.
That's genuinely it. The PS5 encodes and uploads the stream itself.
The options worth caring about
- Resolution. Push it to the highest your connection sustains — 1080p if your upload speed is solid. Test before launch: a blurry heist helps nobody.
- Show comments. Overlays chat on your screen so you can read it without a second device. On a single-screen couch setup, this is the difference between talking with chat and ignoring it.
- Camera. If you have the PS5 HD Camera or a supported USB camera, you can add a face cam from the same menu. Optional — plenty of great GTA streams are gameplay-only.
- Party audio. Decide before going live whether your party chat is broadcast. Friends say unhinged things when they forget they're on stream.
Test it before November 19
Do one real broadcast this week with any game you own. Confirm your title shows up, your mic level is right, and chat overlay works. A ten-minute test now means zero fumbling when the game everyone wants to watch is actually on your screen.
