GTA6: what's actually confirmed (and what isn't)
The signal, separated from three years of noise: setting, protagonists, platforms, and the date — sourced to Rockstar's official releases only. No leaks, no "insider" claims.
The GTA6 information ecosystem is 5% official statements and 95% thumbnail-face speculation. This page tracks only the 5% — things Rockstar has actually said or shown. If it's not here, treat it as unconfirmed no matter how confident the video essay sounded.
Confirmed
- The date: November 19, 2026. Rockstar moved the release twice before landing here, which is exactly why this hub's countdown tracks the official date and nothing else.
- The place: the state of Leonida. Rockstar's fictional take on Florida, anchored by Vice City — the series' Miami — returning as a mainline setting for the first time since 2002's Vice City. Official material shows beaches, swamp country, and neon nightlife well beyond the city itself.
- The leads: Jason and Lucia. A two-protagonist story, the series' first playable woman since the 3D era began, framed by Rockstar as a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style pairing.
- The platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those are the announced launch platforms.
- The trailers are real information. Trailer 1 (December 2023) introduced Lucia and the tone; Trailer 2 (May 2025) showed extended gameplay-graded footage of the pair and Leonida locations. Watching the official trailers closely beats reading a hundred summaries of them.
Not confirmed — commonly claimed anyway
- A PC version at launch. Not announced. Rockstar has historically shipped PC versions after console launches (GTA V: about a year and a half later), so the pattern argues patience — but a pattern is not an announcement.
- Install size, performance modes, map size comparisons. All unannounced. Any specific number you've seen is a guess.
- Online mode details at launch. Rockstar has said essentially nothing official about GTA6's online component; assume nothing.
- Anything sourced to the 2022 leak. Beyond being unofficial, it showed unfinished development work from years ago — worthless for judging the finished game, and this site doesn't host or link it.
Why we're strict about this
Streamers repeat what they read, live, in front of an audience. Repeating a leak-based "fact" that turns out wrong costs credibility with the exact viewers who know better. When something new is confirmed, this page updates — anything absent from it should be introduced on stream with the five most useful words in GTA6 coverage: "this part isn't confirmed, but…"
